General Information
-
What does Reflex Aerospace do?
Reflex Aerospace is a European satellite manufacturer who designs, manufactures, and integrates custom satellites for low Earth orbit. Our goal is to deliver your high-performance satellite (or constellation) to orbit quickly, helping you achieve mission success on your terms.
-
Are these CubeSats?
No. Our custom SmallSats start at 75 kg and scale up to 500 kg, with a maximum payload capacity of 250 kg. Each satellite is tailored to your mission’s specific requirements. We collaborate closely with each of our customers to define those needs from the beginning of the design process. If you aren’t sure of your mission needs, or have questions about your satellite mass, contact us.
-
Do you build the payload?
No. We build the satellite bus that houses your payload. If you already have a payload, we integrate it. If you have a business case but are unsure about the required payload/s, we’ll help you source them.
-
What kind of payloads do we integrate?
Our OmniFlex platform is built for complete customization from the ground up, which means it can carry just about any payload you need. The most common use cases for the OmniFlex are:
* Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR)
* (Very) High Resolution Optical Imaging
* LiDAR, Satellite Communications (SATCOM)
* Passive RF Detection<br>
* PNT
* In-Orbit Servicing
* Space Tug
However, it’s capable of more. If you have more specific questions about your payload, you can either send us your information through our mission form, or contact us and someone from our technical team will get in touch with you.
-
Can your satellite platform carry more than one payload?
Yes. The OmniFlex is capable of flying multiple payloads with a total payload mass of up to 250 kg.
-
What is the typical timeline from mission kickoff to satellite launch?
Timelines vary based on the mission requirements and how quickly your payload is sourced. Typically, the first satellite can be delivered within 12–18 months. To upgrade to a constellation, additional satellites can be delivered in approximately 8–10 months.
-
Why are you different than other satellite manufacturers?
While many offer off-the-shelf solutions, we deliver exactly what your mission demands, whether it’s custom power systems, communications, or intense precision requirements. Our approach to mass customization enables tailored builds while minimizing additional lead time.
-
Do you operate the satellite?
No. We do not provide mission operations. Once your satellite is integrated with your launch provider and we do LEOP and commissioning, you can either manage operations yourself or we are happy to suggest one of our trusted operations partners.
-
What does mass customization mean?
We offer custom satellite solutions at scale. Whether you need one satellite or a full constellation, our streamlined manufacturing processes allow us to deliver faster without compromising on your mission’s performance requirements.
-
How much do your satellites cost?
Because we provide custom solutions, the cost of each satellite will vary according to your mission profile. To get a quote and a custom configuration, fill out our mission form or contact us to talk to someone from our sales team.
-
I'm interested in investing in Reflex, who can I talk to for more details?
We’re glad that you’re interested in supporting our mission. Please fill out our contact form and a member of our team will be in touch.
-
Where are you located?
Our Design Center is located in Berlin, Germany and is where we design the hardware, develop the software, and build prototypes. Our Microfactory is in Munich, Germany. It is a dedicated facility for the assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) of our high-performance satellites.
Engineering and Technical Needs
-
What type of propulsion systems do you use?
We typically utilize electrical or chemical propulsion. The decision of which to use is based on the mission needs.
-
Which orbits do you build for?
Our primary business is in making custom satellites for Low Earth Orbit. If you are interested in a satellite for alternative orbits, please contact us for further discussion.
-
Does the OmniFlex platform support data processing or edge computation on-board ?
Yes, data processing or edge computing is possible onboard with a satellite built on the OmniFlex platform.
-
Which launch vehicles are your satellites compatible with?
Since each satellite is custom designed, we are able to accommodate the load environment of almost any commercial launcher. Talk to us about your options.
-
What services do you provide as part of the satellite purchase?
We design, assemble, and test your satellite(s) as in addition to arranging transport of your satellite to it’s launch site. We integrate your satellite onto its launch vehicle and take care of the LEOP and commissioning. If preferred, we can also procure the launch slot, facilitate your ITU license, and provide operation services via one of our trusted 3rd party partners.
-
Do you operate the satellite?
No, we do not run your mission operations. Once we integrate your satellite onto your preferred launch vehicle and run LEOP and commissioning, you are able to either run mission operations in-house, or we are happy to put you in touch with one of our preferred partners.
-
What communication systems will my satellite have?
That will depend on your mission needs. Typically, S-band will be used for TMTC and mid throughput. X-band is the selection for payload data. For missions with large downlink needs, we would recommend you upgrade to high throughput X-band, K-band, or Optical Links.
Become a Supplier for Reflex
-
Do you work exclusively with European suppliers?
While we prioritize building a strong and resilient European supply chain, we remain open to working with non-European suppliers who offer high-quality, compliant, and relevant solutions. Please note that we focus on strategic fits and do not respond to mass or unsolicited outreach that doesn’t align with our needs.
-
How do I become a preferred supplier?
Please submit your company profile and capabilities through our contact form. Our procurement team reviews potential suppliers based on relevance, proven experience, certifications, and how well they align with our quality, compliance, and project needs.
-
What kind of products or services are you typically sourcing?
We primarily source space-grade components, technical systems and subsystems, and engineering services for aerospace applications with a strong focus on satellite missions. This includes mechanical structures, harnesses, PCB assemblies, embedded software, payload and platform subsystems (e.g. ADCS, power systems, communication modules), as well as environmental testing, prototyping, and integration support.
-
What is your typical supplier evaluation or onboarding process?
We evaluate suppliers based on quality standards, delivery performance, cost competitiveness, responsiveness, and regulatory compliance. The onboarding process generally includes an RFI, a capabilities assessment, and signing a supplier agreement or NDA, if applicable.
-
Do you issue formal RFPs/RFQs or accept unsolicited proposals?
We usually issue formal RFQs to suppliers who have been prequalified through our internal evaluation process. However, we are open to unsolicited proposals, particularly those offering innovative, space-relevant solutions. All proposals are reviewed based on relevance and strategic fit.
-
Do you support long-term partnerships or only project-based contracts?
While many of our collaborations begin on a project basis, we are actively working to establish long-term, reliable partnerships with suppliers who align with our values, quality standards, and long-term goals.
